Cartografía
Observaciones al Mapa
Map (heart-shaped or cordiform) of the world including part of the coast of North and South America. Cartographic elements include lines of latitude and longitude (based on the Ferro Meridian) and some topographical details. Decorative elements include putti and angels surrounding the map, coat of arms of Henry Fitzalan, 12th earl of Arundel [?] flanked by two stags and surmounted by a helmet and eagle [?], broken columns, palms, and fruit. Copy of woodcut map by Oronce Finé, Recens, et integra Orbis Descriptio, Paris [1536] . One of the columns bears a dedication to Henry Fitzalan, earl of Arundel. David Woodward has asserted that the map can be confidently identified as being of Venetian origin (despite Cimerlino being identified as being from Verona) from ink and paper analysis
